Methodology
- This dataset restates OFAC's published SDN vessel records in aggregate: it counts the designated persons and entities OFAC itself places in each vessel record's "Linked To" field. ArcNautical does NOT determine or assert current ownership, beneficial ownership, control, operation, management, chartering, or affiliation beyond what OFAC publishes. Every company named here is itself a Specially Designated National.
- Counts are deduplicated per vessel record and linked party. A vessel record naming more than one linked party (~1.8% of the fleet) is counted once, under its most-frequently-linked party, so the distribution sums exactly to the vessel-record total.
- Linked parties that OFAC designates as individuals (natural persons) are aggregated into a single row with names withheld; only designated companies and organisations are named here.
- 1.7% of vessel records (26) name no party in OFAC's "Linked To" field.
- OFAC updates the SDN list continuously; this reflects records retrieved 2026-06-26 and may differ from OFAC's current live list. The ArcNautical aggregation and CSV are published under CC-BY 4.0; the underlying sanctions records are U.S. Treasury OFAC data.
